INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RESEARCH

The Intellectual Property Research Institute intends to combine self-studying with introducing or applying research results of other individuals and organizations.

The highest standard and purpose that the Institute aims at in research activities is the usefulness and practicality of research products. In the short term, applied research is a prioritized research direction.

Study topic of interest: (i) Economic aspects related to intellectual property (valuation, commercialization of intellectual property; intellectual property in business, trading/ merger/ bankruptcy; taxes on intellectual property); (ii) Administration and marketing of intellectual property; (iii) Management of intellectual property activities in enterprises and administration; (iv) Protection of industrial property rights (development mechanisms, trends, globalization); (v) Issues related to intellectual property assessment activities (organizational model, professional operations related to different types of intellectual property rights ...).

Research tasks are determined from the following sources: (i) Assigned by the Ministry of Science and Technology in the annual research plan according to the Institute's proposal; (ii) Based on research contracts with other organizations and businesses; (iii) Based on cooperation and coordination with other organizations.

The research product is considered to be the property of the Institute or of the research investor following the terms of ownership division in the research contract or in compliance with the law. The Institute emphasizes on putting research products into application in professional activities at the Institute or transferring for practical application outside the Institute.
